A beautiful warm evening last Tuesday saw some fast times in the Barrel race with Jake Oldfield and Bob Scholey recording their fastest times of the year. Several other paddlers came within 2 or 3 seconds of the same achievement. In the overall rankings Jake is closing in on David Hatton in the juniors but in the ladies and seniors Carol Hatton and Roger Williams are still well ahead of the rest.

The previous week saw a low entry for the time trial (first week of the school holidays perhaps being the cause) but Jean Ashley still managed a blistering effort improving her best time of the year by nearly 30 seconds.
