A good turn out and mud larking characterised last Tuesday's Time Trial. Former club member Mark Williams and his son Owen made a guest appearance paddling K2 and help boost the numbers taking part to sixteen.

In the L2 and S2 categories (Div 4 to 6) paddlers portaged for the first time this year and how surprised they were! Spring tides over the last few days had left a thick layer of silt on top of the normally sandy beaches at both of the get outs and one get in. But was it one inch deep or six inches? Only one way to find out - put your foot in it and sink to the bottom - lovely. There was a certain amount of slithering and sliding but all survived without serious mishap even if they did finish the race somewhat daubed and splattered.

In the overall standings after two races it is all very much 'even Stephens' in all categories with no clear cut leaders. All to play for then so why not come and play?
