Hi Everyone,

A big thank-you to all competitors in the Hare 'n Hounds Race last night!

 

We had another very close handicapped race with 10 of us all finishing within 30 seconds of each other ... its a good job Helen (Marriot) our time keeper was 'on the ball', she did a great job getting all our times ..thanks Helen!

 

John Hatton was the star of the night, he was well ahead of us all, and in a WWR, so all his recent races are certainly paying of to his fitness and speed. The div 6 paddlers Jean, Steve and Graham worked together .. trying to close the gap on Roger, Jean took a gamble and went to the left of the sailors, she caught Roger up but he went over the line a second in front. Young David was going very well, held onto Jean's wash but didn't quite get past. Steve had a good strong race too and came in next, meanwhile Parky was being very tactical, he sat on Kate's wash then moved to John Hatton's giving him his highest position yet, well done Parky! 

Jake came next, then Graham, Kate and Carol all fought to the line with only a second between them. Dave Madeley did his first Hare 'n Hounds ... and enjoyed it,  and well done to Margaret who played the Hare and paddled well and gave us all a good chase!

Thanks to (my) Dave who set us all off and made it back to the finish to see us all in!

 

Also thanks to Carol and John who got the BBQ going and fed us all sausages ... it was a great evening, good to be sat around on the patio (enjoying the warmth and admiring the new planter from the WWR) and just to finish it off........ toasted marshmallows!!

1. T.T.1Course - Road Bridge to Eccleston Ferry to Chester Canoe Club House

 

1. T.T.2 Course - Road Bridge to Eccleston Ferry to Barrel and back to Chester Canoe Club House

2. Handicaped 90 seconds per Division

 

 

 

 

 

3. Points are awarded on the times taken for the times taken for the T.T. 1 Course

ie: the course completed by all the paddlers

 

 

 

 

 

4. Points awarded to top 10 places - Rest of the field awarded 1 point

 

 

6. Best 6 results to count over 2011 Series
