Hi Everyone,

Its been a quiet week down at the club, with not a lot to report about, summer has come back so lets hope there's plenty of paddlers out again this week. Just to remind you all its getting dark at around 7.15ish so bring you lights down ... we do need to be seen on the river ... and as we all know the rowers don't give us an inch!

We have a Canoe Club Committee meeting this Thursday at 7.00pm, if anyone has anything to offer and wants to come along please do. We do need an enthusiastic core of people to help out ... not necessary giving up lots of time, many hands make light work and it would be good to share the load. THANKS!!

Hare n Hounds and Lightnings Training DayWILL GO AHEAD on Sunday 9th October, it is the Chester Marathon and the road will be one way from 10 -3 it will be busy but we don't think it will as bad as we first thought. I recommend you get to the club at 9.30 paddlers will have to park at the car park at the top of Sandy Lane or if you are bringing kayaks the one further down Sandy lane or at the sailing club. We looked at moving the date but with the Mersey Descent the following week then half term we decided to go ahead. Carol and I will serve Tea and Toast for those arriving early who may of missed their breakfast ... especially the Macclesfield and Trentham Paddlers!

(Carol and I will send more details and a timetable for the day soon)

Mersey Descent A fairly new member to the club Simon Gelder sent me the details of the Race, he did the race last year in a touring Canadian, and really enjoyed it. It took him about 1 hour 15 mins in very high flow due to torrential rain. They run a tour in parallel with the race, so if you don't want to thrash it down the Mersey you can paddle down at your own pace ... and enjoy the views!
