Hi
Everyone,
Thank-you
to everyone that turned out and raced or helped at the Hasler last
Sunday, the weather was good with very little wind, with the exception
of the odd shower. There were some great results from the juniors with
David Hatton (div 8) and Struan Fishburn (div 7) winning their
divisions, Struan was promoted to div 6. We didn't get a brilliant
turnout, but those that raced ... and fell in too ....all enjoyed
themselves!
Just a
quick reminder
The HARE 'N
HOUND Race this weekend will now take place on
SATURDAY 16th
April (same time 10 for 10.30 paddle up) ... so hope you
can make it.
The
Tuesday Time Trials are well underway, it was an exciting time (for
some) on first Tuesday Time Trial. A log jam of boats rounding the
bottom turn on the second lap resulted in two swimmers. Bob Scholey and
you will never guess who else (Andrew Parkinson) were the ones who took
a dip but luckily it was a warm evening and the earlier stiffish breeze
had dropped so neither got too cold. Thanks to Ray Stamp for aborting
his time trial to help them get out onto one of the pleasure boat
landing stages. They are quite high, it's not easy, so be warned!
David Hatton was again the only Tuesday night Junior. On the 2 lap
course no one opted to do the portages (too windy?) so no points were
awarded.
Also
another bit of news, Kate Ashley has designed the Canoe Club a more up
to date and user friendly website, which Graham Bulmer will update for
us ... but we do need your help and input please!
If you
have any good photos of yourself or anybody from the club (in action
canoeing) could you email them to me please (malpasashleys@btinternet.com)...
just one or two each would be great ... Also we could do with some new
text ... especially on the WILD WATER, RIVER RACE, SLALOM pages just a
few lines from you experts will make all the difference to our website,
also any interesting canoe stories info please send in thanks. This we
hope will help raise the profile of the website and the club, and in
turn may bring new members to our club.
Thanks
everyone, hope to see you Saturday
